Delancey Street Screening Room
600 Embarcadero
San Francisco, CA 94107
DOORS at 7:30! Film at 8:00pm!
Join Gout Films for the premiere screening of SOULS OF SPLENDOR -- a comedic short about being Gay, Geek, and creatively lost in San Francisco.
The film comes in at under 25 minutes, but we hope you'll stay for a Q&A with our cast and crew, and maybe for an after party too!
Souls of Splendor features the story of Leo, a black, gay comic book store clerk and writer who is dealing with his own complicated relationship to his art. He feels left behind by his ex-boyfriend Joe (a successful white artist) and creatively stuck in a place of self-sabotage and distraction. Although steeped in the worlds of comic geeks and San Francisco gay culture, Leo feels alienated from both. He finds the success of others unfair but can not seem to budge himself out of his creative rut. When he sits down to write, distractions abound in the form of video games and his alter-egos a straight, white superhero named Captain Fabulous and Franz Kafka (yes, THE Franz Kafka) who argue with him and offer little solace. After an overdue confrontation with his ex-boyfriend, Leo realized that metamorphosis comes from within and has nothing to do with fairness or luck.
Written and directed by long-time collaborators Audra Wolfmann and Desmond Miller (Gout Films), Souls of Splendor was shot entirely in San Francisco with local talent. Special thanks to all those who donated to the cause, Dockers for their Wear The Pants grant, and to the Amazing Fantasy comic book shop.

We kept the climactic ending to this new horror musical a secret at the staged singing in August but now ALL will be REVEALED!!
HALLOWEEN! THE BALLAD OF MICHELE MYERS is musical parody of America’s obsession with slasher films mashed up with black comedy teen movies such as Heathers along with a heavy dash of one of TV’s scariest sitcoms from the 80s, The Facts of Life:
“Mrs. Skerritt chaperons 4 school ‘girls’ up to the lake for a fun-filled Halloween dance over at the boys’ camp. But someone also invited crazed tranny killer Michele Myers to crash the party! Watch her slash through her victims to a disco beat! Dos-i-do and try to evade her bloody gaze! Rock out with your cock out and it just might get snipped! Shriek in horror at her unmasking! Freddy, Jason, and Michael scared your breathless…now it’s HER TURN!”
HALLOWEEN stars a bevy of local drag and performing artist talent: Raya Light, Steven Satyricon, Trixxie Carr, Audra Wolfmann, Honey Mahogany, Flynn Witmeyer, Robert Grammel aka Pristine Condition, Samuel Palmer, and Kai Medeiros.

Back by popular demand after an entire summer of sold out shows in 2010 (starring Alfred Muller as a brand new Lebowski!), Much Ado About Lebowski is a live staged parody about a man named Sir Geoffery of Lebowski, who lived a simple, humble life until the day he was mistaken for Geoffery of Lebrowski. On that day, one man's quiet life turns into utter chaos full of kidnappings, escaped prisoners, rug peeing, theatrical porn, and a severed toe.
Join the Primitive Screwheads in this wildly unique Comedy of Errors that's a mishmash of an old Elizabethan text and the Cohen Brothers' Big Lebowski and Raising Arizona that features:
- Live Minstrels Playing Classic Songs
- A Dancing Greek Chorus
- Bowling Balls
- Rug Peeing
